A ‘cheeky’ new way to meet singles

A ‘cheeky’ new way to meet singles
A new nationwide dating service is offering to help Baton Rouge singles meet. LSU alum Travis Lamprecht is marketing coordinator for the New York-based company, called Cheek’d after founder Lori Cheek. It’s an “online dating site in reverse,” Lamprecht says. For example, say you’re hanging out with friends in the bar at Tsunami Sushi (where Lamprecht used to work), and someone catches your eye. If you’re a Cheek’d client, without saying a word you can hand the person a card with your personalized message—anything from a simple “Hi” to something racier (like “Act natural—we can get awkward later”). Unlike business cards, Cheek’d cards don’t have names on them. The card directs the person to cheekd.com, where he or she can enter your unique code. Up pops your ZIP code and a short profile. New clients get 50 cards for $25 and pay $10 per month to subscribe to the site. People who receive Cheek’d cards from admirers don’t have to pay anything. Cheek’d has users in 40 states and 11 countries. cheekd.com
